LA Officials Will Discuss How To Stop Illegal Activity On 6th Street Bridge

According to ABC 7, Los Angeles Councilmember Kevin de Leon has said there are conversations happening amongst city departments and officials to figure out how to create a way to deter illegal activity that has been happening at the 6th Street Bridge.

Ever since the opening of the 6th Street Bridge, there have been many illegal activities happening such as street racing takeovers, burnouts, car crashes, people climbing the archways, and more. Police have closed the bridge for the past three nights and there could be more closures until they figure out what steps they need to take to keep the illegal activities from happening.

"Right now what we are discussing is possible medians that can be flexible down the middle of the bridge that would prevent donuts, burnouts, spin-outs," said De León. "We are discussing also to how we could engineer safety precautions on the arches."

De Leon said that they hope to have a plan figured out by the end of the week as well as a timeframe of when the changes will happen.
