LA County Parks Are Offering Free Lunches To Children This Summer

Summertime is almost here and starting today, June 13th, there will be free snacks and lunches provided to children at 46 Los Angeles County parks for the summer as part of the 2022 Summer Food Service Program.

During the weekdays, kids under 18 can get lunch from 12pm-1pm and then can get some snacks from 3pm-4pm. The program will last until August 5th and there will be no food provided on June 20th or July 4th.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, the California Department of Education, the LA County Board of Supervisors and the county's Department of Public Health partnered with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation to bring nutritious food to children that include vegetables, fruits, seeds and dairy.
