Tinder Bans Con Man from Dating App

Netflix recently dropped a documentary called The Tinder Swindler, which is about Shimon Hayut's activities on the dating app Tinder.

Tinder confirmed that they have banned Hayut, also know as Simon Leviev, after the documentary detailed his alleged scams on the dating app. A Tinder spokesperson said that, "we banned Simon Leviev and any of his known aliases as soon as the story of his actions became public in 2019. He is permanently banned from Tinder."

The documentary features interviews with the women who claim they had been conned out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by Hayut . He claimed he was the son of Israeli diamond magnate Levi Leviev and would take the women on luxurious first dates such as going on a trip in a private jet. As time went on, he told the women that he feared for his life because of enemies in the diamond industry. After opening up to the women, he asked them to open up a credit card in their name so he can use personally due to security reasons.
