Fleetwood Mac's Linsey Buckingham Takes Shot At Stevie Nicks

You'd think that after 40+ years Fleetwood Mac drama would be over. Well, former band member Lindsey Buckingham is making sure the drama stays relevant. He recently made comments about his firing from the band and his ex Stevie Nicks.

Ok some context. For those of you who don't know the iconic 1977 album Rumors was rife with drama. In short, each band member dated each other, which all ended in horrible breakups(especially Lindsey and Stevie), and they all wrote songs about each other on Rumors.

Also Lindsey introduced the band to Stevie and then she joined. But quickly became the star of the band, overshadowing Lindsey. So some jealousy may be at play here.

Lindsey was also fired from the band in 2018. And clearly he still has some thoughts about it.

Lindsey told the Los Angeles times that he wanted to delay the 2018 Fleetwood Mac tour to promote his solo music. He alleges that Stevie refused. So he gave an ultimatum: they get rid of Stevie or they get rid of him. Yeah, they are not about to get rid of the most famous person in the band. So he was fired.

Stevie was not about to let that slide. She told the times this, "His version of events is factually inaccurate and while I’ve never spoken publicly on the matter, certainly it feels the time has come to shine a light on the truth. To be exceedingly clear, I did not have him fired, I did not ask for him to be fired, I did not demand he be fired. Frankly, I fired myself. I proactively removed myself from the band and a situation I considered to be toxic to my wellbeing. I was done. If the band went on without me, so be it. And after many lengthy group discussions, Fleetwood Mac, a band whose legacy is rooted in evolution and change, found a new path forward with two hugely talented new members"

We can all learn something from this public feud. Don't.Work.With.Your.Ex!
