Krispy Kreme and Hershey's Create Olympic Doughnut

This is bound to be award-winning: Krispy Kreme and Hershey's have teamed up to create the Hershey's Gold Doughnut in honor of the Winter Olympics.

According to Krispy Kreme's website, the delicious treat puts a twist on the classic glazed doughnut by adding salted caramel icing, crunchy peanuts and pieces of the new Hershey's GOLD Bar. It's the perfect mixture of sweet and salty.

According to Today, this is the first new bar flavor that Hershey's has released in 22 years! With caramel and pretzel bites, the only way to make this better is to throw it on an Olympic-status doughnut.

Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts said in a statement, "we’ve created the perfect balance between smooth and crunchy by including actual pieces of the salty sweet Hershey’s Gold bar on our Original Glazed Doughnut." YUM!

This isn't the first Krispy Kreme and chocolate collaboration that has happened before. Krispy Kreme worked with Ghiradelli's last year on two limited edition doughnuts. One was mint chocolate and the other was sea salt and caramel.

This was in addition to their normal delicious flavors such as a cake batter doughnut, Oreo cookies and kreme doughnut, New York cheesecake doughnuts and more. Suddenly, we have an extreme craving for sweets!

We can't wait to see what kind of mouth-watering doughnut Krispy Kreme puts out next!

Who needs an Olympic gold medal when we can have gold doughnuts?

These limited edition treats will be sold at participating Krispy Kreme locations starting Thursday, February 22. Check out their website to see if the Hershey's GOLD Doughnut will be available near you!
