Woman Reunited With Her Childhood Dog Years Later

At 10 years old, Nicole Renae met her best friend — a small, sweet puppy named Chloe.

According to The Dodo, the two were inseparable for 4 years, but when her father got a new job working at home, it required him to have a quiet, distraction-free household.

Chloe's family was forced to surrender her to their local humane society.

As the years passed, Nicole never stopped thinking about the dog that she had loved so much.

"I always thought about her. I once called the humane society to try to find out what happened to her, but they couldn't tell me anything. So, I never knew," said Nicole to The Dodo.

8 years later, Nicole was married and had a child of her own. She was ready for a new addition to the family: a dog. Nicole spotted a post on Facebook that showed an older dog that needed a home.

She thought it looked kind of like her childhood pet Chloe, but she was in for the shock of a lifetime when she realized it actually was her.

When the pair met, the dog had the exact same mannerisms and personality as Chloe. She was sweet and attacked her new owner's face with kisses.

Nicole remembered that she had had Chloe microchipped as a puppy, so she called her old veterinarian, and it was confirmed that the small dog she had just adopted was her old friend.

Nicole told The Dodo, "I’m so happy to have her back. I get so excited to come home from work to see her each day. This is just the best thing."

Chloe is now 11 years old but is as healthy as she was as a puppy. We're glad Chloe finally found her forever home, and it's with her original owner!
