What Keith Urban's Tattoos Mean

The Australian country singer turns 50 today, and Keith Urban is best known for his music, his bangs, and his soul patch. Many Urban fans don't know what his tattoos mean. Here's a breakdown:

Urban has a phoenix on his left arm, in an interview with The Boot, he says, "The 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' story of the phoenix ... I can relate very strongly to that, going through hard times and coming out the other end of it much stronger for the experience."

Urban has THREE tattoos dedicated to his wife Nicole Kidman. He has her name tattooed on his right bicep with little hearts and intricate designs around her name. Her initials on his right wrist to cover an old tattoo he had gotten with ex girlfriend Niki Taylor, and Nicole Kidman's Hawaiian name, 'Hokulani' tattooed over his heart.

He has more Celtic designs on his left arm. Not Pictured: Urban has an eagle tattoed on his right shoulder blade Urban told The Boot, "I got an eagle because I was in America. I had just been spending time here, I was single and I thought, it's my birthday, I want to give myself a cool gift. I thought the eagle just seemed perfect. It was American, I had my freedom, and it was something that would be on this journey with me for my whole life."

Who knows if he might get more! Until then, Happy Birthday Keith!
